Although the name hickory might sometimes lead people to expect a smoky flavor (as in barbecue sauce), this whisky is more on the tangy side than the smoky side.  The influence of the hickory surprised us when we tasted and bottled this whisky.  It is remarkably smooth, and a nice addition to your cask proof collection.
